Accessibility Statement
Nettie Group Ltd
Last Updated: 6 July 2026
Our Commitment to Accessibility
At Nettie, we believe everyone should be able to discover and enjoy women's sport.
We are committed to ensuring our website (nettie.online) and platform are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
Accessibility isn't just about compliance — it's about inclusion. Just as we work to make women's sport visible, we work to make our platform usable for all.
Accessibility Standards
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
These guidelines ensure our website is:
- Perceivable — Information and user interface components are presentable to users in ways they can perceive
- Operable — User interface components and navigation are operable
- Understandable — Information and operation of the user interface are understandable
- Robust — Content can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies
Current Accessibility Status
The Nettie platform was built with accessibility integrated throughout development. Full automated accessibility testing using axe-core confirmed zero critical or serious violations across all public-facing pages. Keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and WCAG 2.1 AA colour contrast standards have been verified throughout the build.
Our current website includes:
- Semantic HTML structure
- Keyboard navigation support
- Alt text for images
- Clear heading hierarchy
- Sufficient colour contrast
- Readable font sizes
- Mobile responsive design
- Form labels and error messages
Measures We Take
Visual Accessibility
Colour Contrast:
- All text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Our Nettie Green (#4DD219) on white meets contrast requirements
- We do not rely on colour alone to convey information
Text:
- Minimum font size: 16px for body text
- Font choice: Arial (highly readable, dyslexia-friendly)
- Line spacing: 1.6 for better readability
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
Images:
- All images include descriptive alt text
- Decorative images are marked appropriately
- Complex images include longer descriptions where needed
Navigation and Interaction
Keyboard Navigation:
- All interactive elements are keyboard accessible
- Logical tab order throughout the site
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Skip navigation links available
Forms:
- All form fields have clear labels
- Error messages are descriptive and helpful
- Required fields are clearly marked
- Form submission confirmation is provided
Links:
- Link text is descriptive (we avoid "click here")
- Links are underlined on hover
- External links are indicated
Screen Reader Compatibility
We design for compatibility with screen readers including:
- JAWS (Job Access With Speech)
- NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access)
- VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack (Android)
- Narrator (Windows)
We use:
- Semantic HTML elements
- ARIA labels where appropriate
- Logical heading structure
- Descriptive button text
- Meaningful link text
